2008 Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament

The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Ag, Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Committee has announced that July 10-12, will be the dates for the 2008 Governor’s Cup at Fort Peck Lake, MT. The fee for the 2008 tournament has been lowered from $500.00 to $400.00 per two-person team. This lower fee will include Day Money.
At the 2007 Governor’s Cup over $33,000 in cash and prizes was awarded. The brother team of Mike & Reg Gibbs took home the first place with 66.72 lbs., earning them $7000.00.
There were no zero weights in the tournament and the top 34 teams caught at least 15lbs. The largest walleye caught was 13.69lbs.
In 2008 the Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament will be a part of the Walleyes Unlimited 2008 Montana Walleye Circuit.
2007 MT Gov Cup Winners: Reg and Mike Gibbs
The first 2008 Early Bird Entry Fee drawing worth $400 was drawn at the 12th Annual Fishing Derby on February 16, 2008 at the Fort Peck Marina. The winner was Mike Dempsey of Glasgow MT.
A second 2008 MT Governor's Cup entry will be drawn on May 6, 2008 at the Gateway in Fort Peck, MT. The entry fee is worth $400 for one two person team. Raffle tickets are available at the Glasgow Chamber Office or from a Governor's Cup Committee Member.
All entry fees for 2008 MT Walleye Governor's Cup are DUE BY July 3, 2008, a $50 late fee will be assessed after July 3, 2008.
