The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Ag has announced that July 9-11, will be the dates for the 2009 MT Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament at Fort Peck Lake. The fee for the 2009 tournament is $400.00 per two-person team. This fee will include Day Money.

The Mt Governor’s Cup is proud to be a part of the Montana Walleyes Unlimited 2009 Walleye Circuit. The tournament directors have been attending Circuit meetings and State Walleyes Unlimited meetings to ensure the Governor’s Cup rules, format, and planning are for the benefit of the anglers. The MT Governor’s Cup will continue to have the Guys and Gals tournament on Thursday, check in, and weigh in at the Fort Peck low water boat ramp, the anglers BBQ/Rules meeting, and Community Fish Fry at Kiwanis Park.

Our goal is to provide a quality tournament for the Anglers and their families.

At the 2008 MT Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament over $37,000 in cash and prizes was awarded. The local team of Ken Schmidt and Todd Riggs took home the first place with a two day catch of 42.62 lbs., earning them $7500.00.  2008 was the first time in the tournaments 21 year history a wind day was used. Wind gusts were up to 54MPH.

The first day to sign up for the 2009 MT Governor’s cup will be Friday October 31, 2008. A $150.00 deposit is required. Raffle tickets for a free entry fee are being sold at the Chamber office. The drawing will be held at the Ice fishing Derby February 21, 2009 at Fort Peck Lake.  For more information call 406-228-2222.
